Tapital is a free geography game you can run in a lesson. Students join your room from phones, tablets or school computers and find the same capitals on a 3D globe at the same time. No accounts and nothing to install.
Why it works in class
Everyone gets the same place at the same time, so the whole class can talk about each answer.
The reveal shows every pin on the globe with its distance, a good moment to ask why someone guessed where they did.
Students only need a browser and the room code: no account, no email address, nothing to install.
Up to 16 players per room. Split the class into 2, 3 or 4 teams; teams are ranked by their average score, so team sizes can differ.
Run a game in three steps
On your screen, open Tapital, choose Play with friends and then Create a room.
Pick the region, the difficulty and the number of rounds. Turn off "Next round starts by itself" so you decide when to move on.
Show the room code or the link on the projector. Students join and type a name, and you press Start game.
Lesson ideas
Start on Easy, with famous capitals and the country shown. Move to Medium once most pins land close.
One continent per lesson: read its guide together, then play that region.
Flags warm-up: five rounds in flags mode, then talk about the flags that look alike.
Homework: the daily challenge has five places, the same for everyone, and works without an account.
